I launched Versatail® out of simple frustration. Frustration that as a cricketer and avid sports lover, I was constantly having to compromise with products. I had to make a choice between comfort, style, performance or quality; no caps or hats encompassed all of those features and there was nothing out there that suited what I needed as a woman in sport!
It was clear to me that amongst many products in sport, caps in particular have been designed for men, with the occasional label that might perhaps read 'unisex' or 'women's' without any difference in the product at all. After years of cutting holes into my caps and bobble hats to fit my high ponytail in, I finally said enough was enough and I set out to change that.
The first Versatail innovation was the magnetised seam, whereby instead of one fixed opening, I created one large opening for hair to be placed at the height of your choosing, with the seam each side comprising of magnets to close up again afterwards!
The next key feature I wanted to explore was the fit. Caps have always been too big for me and looked silly with gaping space between my head and the top of the hat. Versatail caps therefore incorporate a smaller sizing system in terms of head circumference as well as shorter depth of cap too.
The final important element was the high quality material in both the Versatail Caps & Bobble Hats - I wanted products that were stylish yet functional and could be worn anywhere from the coffee shop to the sports pitch in front of thousands of people!
That’s the true heart of Versatail - designs that work on and off the pitch, built for the real lives of women and girls who love their sport but also love looking and feeling good.
